YORK, Pa. – Sophomore Jessica Cuttone (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) picked an opportune time to score her first career goal, striking in the 42nd minute for what held up as the game-winner as the Gettysburg College women's soccer team stayed undefeated with a 1-0 victory at York (Pa.) College in a non-conference match-up Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Bullets (3-0-2) have now posted five consecutive shutouts to start the year, working 490 minutes without allowing a goal. It is the longest scoreless streak to open the season in program history.
 
Gettysburg outshot York 17-5, including 11-2 in the opening half, but Kate Lutte made seven saves in net for the Spartans (1-4) to keep it close.
 
Senior Eliza Gray (South Orange, N.J./Columbia) stopped two shots for the Bullets and moved into a tie with Allie Rivera '12 for fifth in school history in saves with 174. Gray also picked up her 40th career goalie victory to slide into sole possession of second all-time at Gettysburg.
 
The Bullets outshot the Spartans 7-2 over the opening 37 minutes but could not dent Lutte, who made four saves over the same stretch.
 
Sophomore Krissy Bradley (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) created Cuttone's scoring opportunity when she ripped a shot that bounced off the crossbar. Cuttone was there to punch in the loose ball and give the Bullets all the offense they would need.
 
Gettysburg held a 6-3 shot advantage in the second half and did not allow a shot inside the final 11 minutes. Gray stopped a potential game-tying shot with a save just five minutes into the period.
 
The Bullets play their Centennial Conference opener on Saturday, when they host Ursinus College at 7 p.m.
