Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College volleyball team dropped a 3-1 non-conference decision to visiting Elizabethtown College Wednesday night inside Bream Gym.
Elizabethtown (11-7) won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-22 before Gettysburg (8-8) picked up its first win in the third set 25-12. The Bullets finished out the third set on a 7-1 run with a kill by sophomore setter
Stephanie Blair (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) sealing the set. The Blue Jays closed the night with a 25-22 win in set four.
Junior
Laura Bergin (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) paced the attack with eight kills and she added nine digs, three aces, and three blocks. Sophomores
Lauren Godshalk (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) and
Maddie Weikert (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) each logged seven kills.
Sophomore
Katherine Gilbert (Baltimore, Md.//Notre Dame Prep) led the way defensively with 15 digs. Gilbert also served up a trio of aces. Blair accounted for 25 assists and eight digs.
Mackenzie Garner led Elizabethtown with a dozen kills, while Janae Moran added 11. Steph High dished out 34 assists and put up 10 digs.
Gettysburg hosts a tri-match with Haverford College and Randolph College this Saturday. The Bullets square off with the Fords at 1 p.m. in a Centennial Conference match up before taking on the Wildcats at 5 p.m.
