READING, Pa. – Alvernia University kept its perfect record intact with a 6-1 non-conference victory over Gettysburg College Wednesday night.
 
Gettysburg (4-6) opened the scoring against 16th-ranked Alvernia (14-0) as senior Tori Sankey (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) scored her third goal of the season following a pass from classmate Samantha Wright (Darien, Conn./Darien) 1:43 into the game.
 
The Crusaders came right back with a goal by Malorie McCoy two minutes later. McCoy's second score in the 10th minute held up as the game-winner and gave the hosts a 2-1 lead heading into the break.
 
Four different players hit the scoring column for Alvernia in the second half.
 
The Crusaders held the Bullets to a season-low five shots, while taking 20. The hosts also held a 10-8 edge in penalty corners.
 
Senior Ronnie Bridges (Kingsville, Md./Notre Dame Prep) posted six saves in 60 minutes, while freshman Jillian Caputo (Haddon Township, N.J./Haddon Township) logged a trio of stops in the final 9:17.  
 
Gettysburg returns to its Centennial Conference schedule with contest at Bryn Mawr College Saturday at 1 p.m.
