Box Score

LEXINGTON, Va. – Senior Abby Baigelman (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) scored her 100th career point and the defense was dialed in again as sixth-ranked Gettysburg College cruised past Washington Lee University 10-3 in non-conference women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.

Gettysburg (5-0) remained perfect on the year with another solid defensive effort. The Bullets allowed just 13 shots, marking the fourth consecutive outing where the team's foe put up 16 or less attempts.

The visitors rattled off the first five goals as Washington & Lee (1-5) was held scoreless for the first 24 minutes. Sophomore Katie Landry (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) started the run with a goal 57 seconds into the game. Junior Shannon Keeler (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) recorded the first of her five saves on the Generals' first possession.

Junior Caroline Jaeger (Hampton, N.J./North Hunterdon) and senior Emily Tropsa (Darien, Conn./Darien) scored back-to-back goals just 45 seconds apart to make it 3-0. Baigelman got into the action later in the half with back-to-back goals, the latter marking the 100th point of the senior's career at 8:04.

Following a goal by sophomore Katie Willis (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) which made it 6-1, Keeler recorded another save inside the final minute to preserve the five-goal lead.

The lead stood at five (8-3) when Gettysburg tossed in the final two goals. Senior Maggie Connolly (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) scored at 13:06 and classmate Amanda Borucki (Westminster, Md./North Carroll) followed at 11:31. Keeler turned away the only shot on goal by the Generals in the final 10 minutes at 7:10.

Baigelman, Landry, and Borucki each finished with two goals. Connolly and Jaeger each produced a goal and an assist and combined for five draw controls. Freshman Brooke Holechek (Reisterstown, Md./Notre Dame Prep) tallied three ground balls, four draw controls, and three caused turnovers.

Gettysburg visits No. 5 College of New Jersey on Saturday, March 19. Game time is 1 p.m.
