GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Sophomore
Samantha Esposito (Portage, Mich./Portage Central) scored two goals and the Gettysburg College women's soccer team completed a perfect three-game homestand, defeating York (Pa.) College 3-0 in a non-conference match-up Wednesday evening at Clark Field.

The Bullets (3-1) controlled the match, outshooting the Spartans 20-4 while earning their third win and shutout in a row. Gettysburg's defense has now allowed just one goal over its opening 368 minutes.

York (2-3) was a player down over the final 33 minutes after receiving a red card. The Bullets seized advantage by tacking on their final goal in the 64th minute.

Sophomore
Kiera Loftus (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) made two saves in goal for the Bullets while Brittany Cullison (six) and Emily Faust (three) combined for nine stops for York.

It was the first career multi-goal game for Esposito, who scored one goal as a freshman last season.

The Spartans put up their biggest threat in the 10th minute following a corner kick. A header in front of the net was saved by Loftus before a defender blocked the following shot.

Esposito broke through with her first goal in the 23rd minute. Junior
Krissy Bradley (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe)) ripped a shot from the top of the box that was deflected by Cullison, and Esposito swooped in to smack the ball into the upper-left corner of the net to make it a 1-0 game.

The Bullets would outshoot York 10-3 in the opening half, but Cullison made five of her saves in the period to keep it close.

York was accessed with its red card in the 57th minute, leading to a free kick for the Bullets. Senior
Julia Ramsey (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) cashed in, placing a perfect shot from the top of the box and inside the right post to give her team a 2-0 advantage.

Gettysburg capped its scoring seven minutes later when Esposito struck again. Sophomore
Lauren Miesemer (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) started the play just inside midfield, sending a long pass into the left side of the box, where Esposito tracked it down. She tapped the ball lightly past an onrushing York keeper and into the back-right corner of the net for the game's final goal.

The Bullets cleared much of their bench the rest of the way, with 15 different players subbing into the contest for the Orange and Blue.

Gettysburg opens Centennial Conference play this Saturday, when it visits Ursinus College at 3 p.m.
