ANNVILLE, Pa. – Gettysburg kept host Lebanon Valley off the scoreboard for over 98 minutes, but the Flying Dutchmen broke through with 1:33 left in the first overtime to edge the Bullets 1-0 in the season opener for both teams Saturday afternoon.

The Orange and Blue held a 10-6 shot advantage but could not dent goalie Taylor Reinhold, who stopped both of the Bullets' shots on goal.

Making her first collegiate start, sophomore
Kiera Loftus (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) also made two saves for Gettysburg.

Sammy Bost scored the game-winner for LVC, finishing off a pass from Johnna Garbrick. From the right wing, she juked before sending home a shot into the left side of the net.

Gettysburg outshot the Valley 5-2 in the opening half, but that's when Reinhold made both of her saves, stopping senior
Julia Ramsey (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) in the 17th minute and sophomore
Samantha Esposito (Portage, Mich./Portage Central) 10 minutes later.

The Bullets were unable to find the cage the rest of the way, despite outshooting the Dutchmen 4-2 in the second half. Loftus registered both of her saves in the period, swatting away shots in the 56th and 70th minutes.

Gettysburg took the first shot in the extra session, when freshman
Brooke Priddy (Darnestown, Md./Bullis School) had her attempt sail wide right in the 95th minute. Lebanon Valley missed left just 22 seconds before the game-winner.

The Bullets return to action on Wednesday, when they host Stevenson at 7 p.m. in their home opener.
