YORK, Pa. – York (Pa.) College jumped out to a big first half and the undefeated Spartans handed the Gettysburg College men's basketball team an 83-59 setback in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at Charles Wolf Gymnasium.
The Spartans (3-0) outscored the Bullets 17-2 to start the game and increased their lead to 52-20 by halftime. Gettysburg (1-3) outscored York 39-31 in the second half, when it shot 51.6 percent from the field.

Nick Lord (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) led the Bullets with 14 points and a career-high six rebounds while senior forward
Matt England (Warrington, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) notched 10 eight points and eight rebounds. Sophomore guard
Joey Carroll (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) added a career-high eight points while sophomore guard
Danny Duffey (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) posted seven points and six assists.
Matt Scamuffo scored a game-high 21 points while shooting 5-of-8 from 3-point range for York, which finished 13-for-36 from beyond the arc. Dalton Myers added 15 points for the Spartans while Blayde Reich contributed 13 points.
York shot 57.1 percent from the field and knocked down 7-of-15 3-pointers in the opening half. The Spartans never trailed after starting the game on a 7-0 run before freshman center
Avery Close (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) put the Bullets on the scoreboard with a lay-up at the 16:18 mark. However, York answered with a 10-0 run to open up its 17-2 lead with 14:57 on the clock.
Lord knocked down a triple to cut the deficit to 12, but that's when the Spartans put together a 15-2 run as their lead ballooned to 25 with 8:34 remaining in the period.
The Bullets used a 6-0 spurt to make it 42-20 with 2:59 showing, but York reversed the momentum with a 10- run to end the half.
Gettysburg continued to fight, however, and put together a 12-3 run midway through the second half. Carroll scored six points during the stretch, and his free throw with 4:43 left made it 74-55. But that's as close as the Bullets would get the rest of the way.
The Orange and Blue return to Centennial Conference action on Thursday, when they visit Johns Hopkins University starting at 7 p.m.
