The Orange and Blue wrapped up its record 11th Centennial Conference championship by defeating No. 7 Franklin & Marshall College 15-7 in the title game. The team's only losses this season have come against the Diplomats and current No. 8 York (Pa.) College. Gettysburg is making its 17th consecutive and 18th overall appearance in the NCAA playoffs. The Bullets won all five national playoff contests last season, including a 6-5 victory over The College of New Jersey in the title game, marking the program's second national championship. Gettysburg is 31-15 all-time in the NCAA playoffs.

Westfield State is making its second national showing. The Owls earned the bid by clinching the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MACAC) championship with a 17-10 win over Framingham State. Westfield State won its NCAA debut against Castleton University 15-8 last spring before falling to William Smith College 15-1 in the second round.

Morrisville State makes its third national trip in the last four seasons. The Mustangs took down Medaille College 21-10 in the finals of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) to clinch a spot in the playoffs for the second year in a row. Morrisville State has won 12 of its last 13 games since opening the season 0-6. The team has lost both of its previous NCAA contests.
