GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's soccer team fell 1-0 in a non-conference tilt against Frostburg State University on a humid Tuesday night at Clark Field.

The Bobcats scored the lone goal six minutes into the opening half as Brooke Shehade shot from the right side of the field and the ball landed in the upper left corner of the net.

Gettysburg outshot Frostburg State 17-4 in the opening half and held the 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.

At the 29-minute marker in the second-half, Gettysburg had an opportunity to tie the match as senior Alexa Bushey (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) kicked a high pass from the right side of the field to freshman Erika Muskus (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) who one touched the ball in front of the net, but it rolled wide left.

The Bullets had another opportunity with 15 minutes remaining in regulation as Gettysburg moved the ball down in the Bobcats territory, finding Muskus to take the shot in front of the net, she hits it short, but junior Charlotte Cenatiempo (Weston, Conn./Weston) was there to finish it off. However, the referee waved off the goal due to offside by Gettysburg.

Most of the play occurred down at Frostburg State's side of the field, with Gettysburg having numerous opportunities and looks at the net. The Bullets continued to fire away shots from all cylinders as they ended the match outshooting the Bobcats a massive 32-11.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kerry Sammon (Pearl River, N.Y./Academy of the Holy Angels) played all 90 minutes and notched four saves. 

Gettysburg will resume Centennial Conference play on Saturday, September 29, as they travel to Byrn Mawr College for a 12 p.m. match.
