How It Happened…
  • First Half: In a comparatively even opening half, the Bullets tried to get on the scoreboard mid-way through as sophomore Connor Fife (Newtown, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep), junior Sam Lermon (Wayzata, Minn./Field School), and sophomore Oladayo Thomas (Lagos, Nigeria/The Masters [N.Y]) each fired a shot within a 10-minute span, but each one was saved by Bilbie. The Green Terror only shot twice, one that went wide at the 8:49 marker and Keane saved the other with 32:16 on the clock.
  • Second Half: On the sixth shot attempt, Gettysburg finally broke through at the 75:29 marker. A free kick by the Bullets bounced off the center of a Green Terror defender to Carroll at the top right side of the box. He then blasted it into the lower left side for the lone score of the game. Gettysburg controlled much of the final half as they out-shot McDaniel 10-1. Khaled Abuhantash took the only Green Terror shot that Keane turned aside with under 10 minutes left.
By the Numbers
  • Gettysburg out-shot McDaniel 15-3, with 10 shots coming in the second half.
  • The Bullets held the 9-4 edge in corner kicks.
Defense
  • The Orange and Blue have tallied four shutouts, which includes two against Centennial Conference opponents.
  • Gettysburg handed McDaniel its second straight loss, first at home, and first shutout of the season.
