How It Happened…
  • First Quarter: Johns Hopkins didn't waste any time in its quest to reach the CC title game for the third consecutive season and put two shots on goal in the first 5:33. Caputo prevented both attempts from getting into the cage, but the Blue Jays connected on their third on-goal try as McErlean converted 6:23 into the game. Caputo stopped another shot to keep the margin at one.
  • Second Quarter: The CC leader in assists, Birk went to work in the second frame with three dimes to her teammates. She dropped the first two off to Glaser and picked up her third on a blast by McErlean to make it 4-0. Another shot by McErlean was halted by Caputo before the break.
  • Third Quarter: Gettysburg refused to back down in the third quarter with Shaffer stopping an attempt by Birk just over a minute into the period. Captuo added two more saves on back-to-back shots by Glaser and Myra Granato. Johns Hopkins eventually found a hole as Birk passed it to Erickson for a 5-0 lead.
  • Fourth Quarter: Gettysburg revved up the offense in the fourth quarter. Bertrando set up the first goal, slipping a pass through the defense for Beccaria, who slapped the ball from the right side past Hall with 12 minutes left. Beccaria returned the favor to Bertrando in the 55th minute, dropping off the penalty corner to the left wing for the junior to hit it home. Three minutes later, Beccaria corralled a rebound and slipped the ball through the wickets of new keeper Morgan Seward. With just under a minute left, Soares took the corner pass at the top of the arc and passed it left to Bertrando. Bertrando's shot deflected off the keeper and into the cage to cut the margin to a goal with 59 seconds left. Hopkins controlled possession of the ball for the remainder of the game.
