LEXINGTON, Va. – On the final day of the Washington & Lee Holiday Tournament, the Gettysburg College men's basketball team dropped an 83-55 decision against Washington and Lee University inside the Duchossois Tennis Center on Monday afternoon.

How It Happened…
- First Half
- W&L opened the stanza with a 6-2 run, but Gettysburg tied the game at 6-6 as Antolini drained a jumper and freshman Elijah Williams (Washington, D.C./Sidwell Friends) made a lay-up.
- The Generals and Bullets traded baskets for the next couple of possessions with W&L then going on a 4-0 run to push the lead 12-8. A minute later, sophomore Jack Rooney (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) hit a clutch trey to allow the Bullets to come within one (12-11).
- The pendulum swung in favor of the home team over the next six-plus minutes with the Generals mounting a 26-8 run that included four three-pointers.
- The Bullets worked their way back down the stretch as they came within 11 (42-31) at intermission. The Orange and Blue rattled a 12-4 run in the final six minutes of the stanza with Leder leading the way with four points.
- Second Half
- The Bullets closed the gap down to seven (42-35) in the opening minutes of the final stanza as Antolini and Close each scored off jumpers.
- The hosts responded by engineering a 19-3 run that included four three-pointers and eight points from Dennin.
- The Bullets, unfortunately, struggled to get into an offensive flow, and the Generals continued to lead by double-digits the remainder of the game.
By the Numbers
- Gettysburg went 22-of-64 (34.4 percent) from the floor, 9-of-18 (50 percent) from the free throw line, and only made two three's.
- Fifteen players for the Bullets saw action in today's game.
- W&L concluded the game by hitting 41.4 percent (29-of-70) from the field, 37.5 percent (12-of-32) from three-point land, and 72.2 percent (13-of-18) from the charity stripe.
- The Generals out-rebounded the Bullets 50-39.
Where the Series Stands
The Bullets now hold a 3-2 all-time series record against the Generals. In the last meeting, W&L edged the Bullets 76-74 in double-overtime at the Gettysburg Men's Basketball Tip-Off Tournament back during the 2014-15 season.
