Game Summary…
  • Game vs. Greenville
  • After three up, three down by both teams in the first inning, Colline blasted a homer to left field to open the second, putting Gettysburg ahead 1-0 at the top of the second inning.
  • A Jonik double in the top of the third, and advancing to third on a wild pitch, helped the Bullets set up another run as Julie came to the plate and hit an RBI single to make it 2-0.
  • The Bullets did not allow the Panthers to reach base through three innings, but that changed in the fourth as Deidra Holzh produced a two-run dinger to tie it up at 2-2.
  • The score remained the same heading into the top of the sixth, but an RBI single by Baker pushed the Bullets to a 3-2 advantage.
  • The Panthers responded by accumulating two runs in the bottom of the sixth off an RBI double by Hannah Hoffm and scoring on a wild pitch.
  • Senior Liz Cowell (Verona, N.J./Mount Saint Dominic) opened the seventh with a single to left field and freshman Allie Cluster (Pasadena, Md./Mount De Sales Academy) next doubled to left field to bring Cowell across the plate to tie the game again.
  • A couple of defensive errors by the Bullets in the bottom of the seventh put the Panthers in scoring position. Katie Myers scored the run to give Greenville the victory.
  • Game vs. Saint Joseph
  • An RBI triple by Julie, an RBI single by Baker, and a sacrifice fly by Moser put the Bullets in front 3-0 in the top of the first inning.
  • The Blue Jays answered back in the bottom of the inning as Alessandra Milardo pounded a grand slam to lead 4-3.
  • Saint Joseph held the lead heading into the third, but it stopped after that as the Bullets offense blasted four runs in the third, three in the fourth, and nine in the seventh.
  • Julie, Colline, and freshman Abby Seiple accounted for two RBI, while Moser, Jonik, and senior Nicole Farese (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) each logged in an RBI in the seventh.
By the Numbers
  • Gettysburg put up its highest offensive output since a 21-5 win over Elizabethtown College in 2014.
  • The Orange and Blue compiled 16 RBI against Saint Joseph, which ties the season-high that happened at the University of Mary Washington in game one.
  • Baker keeps inching closer to her 100th career hit as she is now only three shy. She has been clutch from the plate this season, going 21-for-29 with 22 RBI, four doubles, and three home runs in nine games.
  • For the first time in her career, Jonik posted two triples in one game, which she accomplished against Saint Joseph, pushing her career total to nine. She is now 10 runs away from collecting her 100th career.
  • Herrera improves her record to 3-0 from the circle.
