How It Happened…
- Game One vs. Lancaster Bible
- Ferraiolo set down all 15 batters she faced in five innings of work. She struck out 11, for the second consecutive game, while including one ground-out and two fly-outs. The freshman pitcher polished off her first career no-hitter after a grounder to third base.
- Gettysburg scored runs in all but one inning against Lancaster Bible. The Bullets posted two runs in the first frame with Baker plating two with a double and tacked on four in the second.
- With the score at 6-0 entering the third inning, Campana and Baker tallied RBI singles while Colline notched an RBI double in the third to close out the inning.
- Ferraiolo won her second start to move to 2-1 on the year.
- Gettysburg added its fourth win in a row with a 9-1 decision over Cazenovia early Monday afternoon.
- Spinner moved to 2-0 this season with only one earned run allowed on two hits. She struck out a career-high 10 and issued four walks.
- The Bullets had a player on second and third following singles by Julie and Campana, both of whom then stole second and third. Colline came up to bat an RBI double to send Julie and Campana across the plate for the first set of runs. The Orange and Blue added another to make it 3-0 after the first frame.
- Much like the first game, the Bullets scored in all but one inning. A Campana RBI double marked the fourth tally in the second.
- Gettysburg logged in back-to-back-to-back runs in the fourth with an RBI single by Baker, an RBI double by Moser, and an RBI single by Cowell to extend the Bullets advantage 7-1 heading into the fifth.
- A walk off single by Baker in the fifth sealed the deal for the Bullets.
By the Numbers
- The Bullets have been busting out the bats as the team tallied its third-straight game with nine runs or more and fifth overall.
- Ferraiolo's no-hitter was the 18th in program history. The last no-hitter performance occurred in 2017 by Aileen Reilly '18 against SUNY Canton.
- Baker is now 10 hits shy of cracking the 100 career list.
- Julie and Cowell are both closing in on 100 career hits as well. Both need 16 and 25, respectively.
- After hitting 100 career against Mary Washington, Jonik needs 15 runs to make it to 100 overall.
- The Bullets have complied 29 more hits through six games this season than last season.
Where the Series Stands
This was the first-ever meeting between Gettysburg and Lancaster Bible. The Bullets faced the Wildcats for the second time in program history. The two teams met in 2015 in Myrtle Beach with Gettysburg winning 16-5.
