LANCASTER, Pa. – After collecting a handful of all-conference and all-region awards over the last five years, Emma Bertrando (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) finally claimed her first-ever weekly honor by being named Centennial Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week it was announced on Tuesday, Oct. 19.
 
A three-time All-CC selection and 2019 All-South Region Second Team honoree, Bertrando had missed out on the weekly award from the league until a strong performance at Washington last Saturday. The senior midfielder had a hand in all three Gettysburg goals, scoring the first off a penalty corner in the second quarter. She picked up an assist on a redirect early in the third quarter and then slipped a slick pass to the left wing for another teammate's goal 48 seconds into the final period.
 
Bertrando is tied for fifth in the conference with 19 points. She leads Gettysburg in goals (6), assists (7), and shots (59). The senior, who returned to Gettysburg to play out her final year after taking a gap year in 2020-21, has cracked the program's top-10 list for career points. She sits 10th with 72 points and is also tied for eighth with 18 career assists.
 
Gettysburg (7-5, 3-3 CC) meets Dickinson College (6-7, 5-2 CC) on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 4 p.m. in Carlisle, Pa.
