How it Happened
First Half: Muskus didn't waste any time as she fired the first shot on goal 29 seconds into the start of the opening half that was turned aside by Emily Senko. A Gettysburg defender went to clear the ball away about a minute later, but it landed to the feet of Franklin & Marshall's Meg Callahan, who shot into the back of the net for the early goal. Gettysburg pounded back-to-back shots at the cage not long after, with Senko stopping both. Muskus attempted another shot on goal in the 41st minute, and Senko made a save once again. The Diplomats held on the 1-0 lead at halftime.
Second Half: Gettysburg continued with the offensive pressure in the second half, when they rattled off four shots on goal in the first 12 minutes. Emily Senko stopped them all, allowing the Diplomats to hold the 1-0 lead. The two rivals continued to battle it out throughout the game, with Gettysburg having chances down the stretch to punch one into the net, but were unable to get one past Senko.
