Game Summary – Game One…
  • Hughes posted a pair of strikeouts in the first couple of innings and the Bullets defense went to work by keeping the Red Devils off the scoreboard.
  • Freshman Giovanna Komst (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) leadoff the bottom of the third inning with a double to left center. Gettysburg would then notched back-to-back outs, but that didn't put a damper on the Bullets offense as Colline blasted a two-run homer to give the team a 2-0 lead. The dinger marked the first of the season and seventh of Colline's career.
  • Hannah Sebur grounded out to second base allowing her teammate Devon Kueny to score Dickinson's first and only run in the top of the fifth inning.
  • Gettysburg accumulated two more runs in the bottom of the fifth as Baker ripped a two-RBI single to right center to bring sophomore Olivia Moser (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) and Komst across the plate.
  • A single by Quinn followed by a stolen base put the Orange and Blue in another position to tally a run in the bottom of the sixth. Komst flied out on the next at-bat allowing Quinn to advance to third. A double to right center by sophomore Jess Campana (Brick, N.J./Saint John Vianney) gave Quinn the run for the fifth and final score of game one.
  • Hughes struck out two in the final inning to close game one with a 5-1 victory.

Game Summary – Game Two…
  • Dickinson did not shy away in the nightcap as they rattled off three runs in the top of the first inning.
  • Komst leadoff the bottom of the first with her second double on the day. Campana walked on the next at-bat and Moser registered an RBI single down the right field line to bring Komst across the plate. The Red Devils tried getting the out on Campana as she was trotting to home plate on Colline's at-bat but Dickinson wasn't successful giving the Bullets another run.
  • An RBI double by Sebur in the top of the second and a single bunt by Brooke Espen in the third pushed the visitors to a 5-2 advantage. Freshman relief pitcher Nikki Caesar (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) came into the top of third with bases loaded and did a phenomenal job by striking out the next two batters to end the inning.
  • Campana opened the bottom of the third inning with a double down the left field line and a triple by Moser thereafter gave the Bullets another tally. Moser took advantage of the wild pitch on the next play and collected another for the Orange and Blue.
  • Hannah Sebur's two-run homer in the top of the fifth and back-to-back RBI doubles by Marissa Fabb and Brooke Espen in the top of the sixth pushed the Red Devils lead to five.
  • The Bullets did not back down in the bottom of the seventh inning. Gettysburg took advantage of the defensive miscues and scored off a wild pitch and a walk. The squad had runners in scoring position with two outs but were unable to make the comeback falling 9-6 in the nightcap.
