CARLISLE, Pa. – Freshmen
Alex Kagan (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) and
Michael Zayneh (Hilton Head Island, S.C./Heritage Academy) teamed up for a win at No. 1 doubles and picked up wins at each of the top two singles flights to lead Gettysburg College to a 6-3 win at Dickinson College in Centennial Conference men's tennis action at the Hays Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon.

Gettysburg jumped out to the early 2-0 advantage with wins at first and third doubles. Kagan and Zayneh put the Bullets on the board with an 8-4 win at the top flight before juniors
Max Levy (Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) and
Alec Shalk (Milton, Del./Smyrna) cruised to an 8-2 win at No. 3. The Red Devils prevented the shutout by grinding out an 8-6 victory at the second flight.
Kagan and Zayneh accounted for two of the first three singles decisions to keep Gettysburg in front 4-2. Kagan polished off a quick win over Thomas Griffin 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1. After a win by Dickinson at No. 4, Zayneh laid down a bagel in the second set to earn a 7-6, 6-0 decision over Romano De Caprio at the second position.
Dickinson cut the lead down to 4-3 with a win at third singles, but Levy and junior
Matt Rau (Castle Pines, Colo./Regis Jesuit) closed the match with wins at the bottom two singles flights. Levy won 6-4, 6-2, while Rau earned a 6-0, 6-3 win.
Where the Series Stands Now
Gettysburg picked up its first win over Dickinson since 2011 and improved its lead in the all-time series to 44-39-2.
