Match Summary
- First Set: Marymount scored four of the first five points and led 7-4 following a kill from Caylee Shelton. The Bullets caught fire over the next several minutes, erupting for four-straight points to start a 16-6 run. Marymount tried to slow things down with a timeout, but an ace by Kuba-McCoy coming out of the pause pushed the margin to 20-13. The Saints clawed their way back to within a point at 22-21, but a kill by Holtz was followed up by an ace by Pidoriano. Kuba-McCoy capped the first-set win with a kill.
- Second Set: The second set played out in similar fashion with the hosts taking a 5-2 lead only to see the Bullets pull even after three-straight points, two of which came via combined blocks by Ulrich and senior Ingrid Bayer (Falls Church, Va./Bishop O'Connell). The Saints remained in front 10-7 before Gettysburg made its move, eventually pulling in front by three at 17-15 on a kill be senior Jordyn Horowitz (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick). Marymount remained in the rear-view mirror for the rest of the set, getting no closer than two points.
- Third Set: Gettysburg came out quick with the goal of polishing off the sweep. The Bullets tallied the first five points and held a 7-3 advantage following a service error on the hosts. A kill be Munsterman reawakened Marymount, which mounted a furious seven-point run. Gettysburg was unable to string consecutive points together for the remainder of the set and the Saints closed out the victory with an 8-2 run.
- Fourth Set: The Bullets dominated play at the net in the early going and O'Leary served up a pair of aces on the way to a 12-3 lead. Marymount wasn't quite out of the running, however, tallying four consecutive points and eventually whittling the deficit down to four at 18-14. A kill by sophomore Olivia Biggs (Winchester, Va./James Wood) ended the threat and kick-started a match-ending 7-1 run. Holtz provided the final blow with a kill from the right side.
