Game Summary
- First Quarter: Franklin & Marshall came out of the gates intent on claiming its first Centennial win after suffering a 6-0 loss to No. 15 Ursinus College over the weekend. The Diplomats racked up three penalty corners and three shots in the opening 10 minutes of play, culminating in a goal by Klopp at 9:25. Gettysburg went on the attack in the final five minutes of the opening quarter and tallied a trio of shots on goal, including two by Bertrando that were stopped by Lippe.
- Second Quarter: After its initial offensive flurry, F&M was held to just one shot over the final 20 minutes of the first half. Lippe kept the Bullets off the board with saves on shots by Beccaria and Bertrando just 20 seconds apart. A final shot by sophomore Hailey Rhine (Denver, Colo./St. Mary's Academy) clanged off the post with just over a minute remaining in the second period.
- Third Quarter: Gettysburg's defense continued to limit clean looks at the cage by the Diplomats with only one shot by the hosts in the frame. In the final five minutes of the quarter, the Bullets ran up two shots and three penalty corners.
- Fourth Quarter: After going over 40 minutes without a shot on goal, F&M finally challenged Besselman early in the fourth quarter. The senior was up to task by knocking away Sophie Carroll's attempt at 46:25. Bertrando would provide the equalizer for the Bullets, running out to the right wing and crushing a shot past Lippe to make it 1-1 with less than eight minutes remaining. Following another stop by Besselman in the 55th minute, it was time for Gettysburg to strike again. Bertrando provided the setup, sliding a pass in from the right wing and Beccaria followed through with a quick strike past Lippe at 55:50. Facing their first loss to Gettysburg in more than a decade, F&M went charging at the goal in the final four minutes of action. The Diplomats earned a pair of corners and fired off a pair of shot attempts, but Besselman turned away Carroll with 58 seconds remaining to preserve the victory.

From the Coach
'We talked all week about the need for everyone to play hard and to focus on doing their job, and to play four strong and consistent quarters to give ourselves an opportunity to come out on top. F&M is an incredibly strong team so we knew we had to bring our best effort." –
