Elizabethtown, Pa. – After a scoreless first half, the Gettysburg College women's soccer team rattled off two quick goals in the second half to defeat Elizabethtown College 2-1 in its first collegiate game in nearly two years on Saturday morning in the season opener.

How it Happened
First Half: The Blue Jays fired three shots with two on goal in the first six minutes of action, but Cunningham made the pair of saves to keep the hosts off the board. Junior
Lena Schaefer (Atlanta, Ga./Lakeside) was the lone Bullet to take a shot on goal in the half. The team headed into halftime with a 0-0 draw.
Second Half: The second half started completely different then the first as the Bullets offense rolled into action. A minute and 26 seconds in Muskus pounded the first shot at the net, which resulted in the team's first goal of the season to put Gettysburg ahead 1-0. Eight minutes later, Bedell found the back of the net to make it 2-0 with 54:12 on the clock. The Blue Jays sliced the Bullets lead in half with a goal of their own ten minutes later. Gettysburg's defense limited Elizabethtown to only one shot the remainder of the game, holding on to claim the 2-1 victory.
