THE REST OF THE STORY
• After a scoreless first half that saw dominant, aggressive play by Catholic,
Jordan Weinberg struck early in the second half to put the Bullets on the board. After a corner kick ball went towards Cardinals goalie Ava Rieger, she attempted to grab the ball and fell to the ground. The ball slipped Rieger's grasp, and with the keeper out of the cage, Weinberg connected with the loose ball and knocked it into the net.
• In the 60th minute of play,
Ashley Carbonier received a pass from
Molly O'Shea (Reading, Pa./Wilson), and kicked the ball into the air and above the goalie's arms to give Gettysburg a 2-0 advantage.
• The final goal of the game came seven minutes later.
Jane Daiutolo (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) took a corner kick, and her ball went directly to
Jordan Weinberg, who headed it into the left side of the goal for her second goal of the game.
