Muhlenberg found the back of the net in the 36th minute for a 1-0 win over Gettysburg in the opening round of the 2022 Centennial Conference men's soccer tournament.

FOR THE FOES
• Jake Mendelson scored the game's lone goal, converting off a corner kick for the fifth-seeded Mules, who advance to Friday's semifinals at top-seeded Franklin & Marshall.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg had numerous chances in the game's opening 16 minutes but could not find the back of the net. In the 36th minute, Jake Mendelson entered the game and immediately took a Muhlenberg corner kick on the far side. His ball when to the top of the box, where Andrew Gaines headed it back across the box and Mendelson was able to get a foot on it and score just inside the near post on a tough-angle shot.
• The Bullets played the final 19:21 with a player advantage but could not find the equalizer.

• Gettysburg finished with a 12-7 advantage in shots and 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
