Breakdown
- Penn State Harrisburg struck early with a two-out walk leading to a run-scoring single by Delaney Nevi in the first inning. Gettysburg came up empty despite loading the bases in the third inning, but the Bullets tallied two runs in the following frame to take the lead. Junior Olivia Moser (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) led off with a double and stole third base. She scored on a fielder's choice by DeCandia. DeCandia would also come around to score on a double by freshman Elliana Hopple (Collegeville, Pa./Episcopal Academy), although an additional run was kept off the board with a play at the plate.
- The Nittany Lions roared back in front with four runs in the bottom of the frame. Lehi provided the big blow with a bases-clearing double to left to put the score at 5-2. After entering the game in relief, Herrera worked her way out of the jam and left two runners on base with a strikeout and groundout to second base.
- The Bullets returned the favor in the next two innings, picking up an RBI double by Smith in the fifth and then bringing in five runs in the sixth. Gettysburg posted four consecutive singles with Komst bringing in two runs. DeCandia polished off the scoring with a two-run single of her own later in the frame.
- Herrera allowed only one hit over the final three innings and set down the side in both the sixth and seventh innings.
Where the Series Stands
Gettysburg improved to 3-0 all-time against Penn State Harrisburg. It was the teams' first meeting since 2010. Noteworthy, the Bullets are 11-0 all-time against Penn State branch campuses.

Centenary's Top Performers
- Sandra Cosenzo: 1-3, Run
- Kelly Ann Earrusso: 4.2 IP, 6 Hits, 2 Runs
Breakdown
- Gettysburg jumped all over Centenary with six runs in its first at bat. Eleven batters went to the dish in the opening frame with Moser and Hopple each recording two-run doubles. Komst doubled home the final run for a 6-0 lead.
- The Cyclones scored their only hit and run in the top of the second inning. Cosenzo reached on a single to right field, advanced to second on a walk, advanced to third on a passed ball, and then raced home on a wild pitch by Meyer. It would be Meyer's only blemish on a strong start, which saw her end each of her three innings of work by placing a strikeout in the scorebook.
- DeCandia blasted a solo home run to center in the second inning and Gettysburg tacked on its final run on a two-out double by Goldstein in the fifth.
- Forry did not allow a hit over her four innings of relief to earn the win. She allowed a walk to lead off the sixth, but back-to-back force outs at second quieted the Cyclones.
Where the Series Stands
Gettysburg and Centenary played for the first time since the Bullets laid a 34-0 shellacking on the Cyclones in 2000. Today was just the second meeting all-time between the teams.
Next Up
The Bullets have two more games on tap for Monday in Myrtle Beach. The team will open the morning against Montclair State University at 9:30 before taking on King's (Pa.) College at 11:30.
