Bullets Outpace Owls for Fourth Straight Win

Caroline Sullivan led with four goals

Gettysburg, Pa. — Seventh-ranked Gettysburg College extended its women's lacrosse winning streak to four games with a 24-4 victory over Bryn Mawr College in Centennial Conference action on Saturday.
 
The Bullets' offense erupted for 11 goals in the first quarter, stretching its lead to eight goals in the opening 15 minutes. Within a minute of the second quarter, Gettysburg enacted the running clock.
 
Gettysburg (10-4, 5-0 CC) matched its largest win streak of the season.
 
Leading the Bullets was sophomore Jordan Basso (Rye, N.Y.) with a nine-point effort. She scored three goals and six assists. She tied a career-best points mark with her second nine-point game performance in a three-game span.
 
Sophomore Caroline Sullivan (Fairfield, Conn.) had a team-high four goals and six draw controls. Sophomore Jenna King (Millersville, Md.) garnered six points with three goals and three assists.
 
Junior Katie Fullowan (Lebanon, N.J.) finished with a hat trick. Freshman Emily Crane (Upper Montclair, N.J.) matched her with three points on two goals and an assist, adding three draw controls.
 
Sophomore Regan Rightmire (Downingtown, Pa.) tallied five draw controls to complement her two-goal performance. Junior Gabi Connor (Haddonfield N.J.) and freshman Lauren O'Connell (Wincheter, Mass.) scored twice for the Bullets.
 
Defensively, junior Kaitlyn Bergen (Millstone, N.J.) posted two caused turnovers. Caroline Keenaghan (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) notched a goal and an assist.
 
In goal, Gill Cortese (Mount Laurel, N.J.) made two saves in a winning effort.
 
The Owls received two assists from Isabel Shin.
 
Gettysburg opened the game with five unanswered goals in the opening 3:30. Fullowan opened with an unassisted goal 19 seconds into the game.
 
Bryn Mawr added two in a 2:21 span. Camille Franklin added a goal at the 9:25 mark to cut the Owls' deficit to 6-2. Gettysburg responded with four straight goals, and Fullowan tacked on a goal at 2:32 to take a 10-2 lead.
 
Gettysburg outshot the Owls 34-6. The Bullets doubled Bryn Mawr 10-5 in ground balls.
 
The Bullets have a pivotal matchup with No. 2 Franklin and Marshall for first place at Clark Field on Wednesday, April 20, at 4 p.m.
