Gettysburg's sweep, coupled with a pair of wins by Muhlenberg College over Washington College, assured the Bullets of the fourth and final spot in next week's postseason tournament.

Gettysburg opens the double-elimination tournament at top-seeded Swarthmore College on Tuesday, while second-seeded Muhlenberg College hosts third-seeded McDaniel College in Tuesday's other opening-round contest.

All four teams will complete the tournament on Friday and Saturday at Swarthmore.

Game 1

In Saturday's opener, Gettysburg scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to overcome a 4-3 deficit to a 5-4 win.

Haverford (13-21, 8-8 CC) took advantage of an error by the Bullets in the top of the first to open the scoring, but Gettysburg used a three-run third to claim a 3-1 lead.

Sophomore
Julia Smith (Marydel, Md./Queen Anne's County) delivered a two-run double to left before sophomore
Giovanna Komst (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry High School) brought home freshman
Michaela Carroll (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) with a sacrifice fly.

The Fords went back in front in the visitor's fifth, scoring three runs on three hits to take a 4-3 lead.

The Bullets answered with the tying and eventual game-winning run in the bottom of the frame courtesy of RBI singles from juniors
Jess Campana (Brick, N.J./Saint John Vianney) and
Olivia Moser (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville).

Haverford got the potential tying run into scoring position in both the sixth and seventh innings, but freshman
Paige Forry (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) held the Fords in check to secure the victory.

Forry (10-6) tossed a complete game to earn the win. The freshman allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out three batters.

Campana led the Bullets at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Komst and Smith added doubles, while Moser and sophomore
Bailey Quinn (Hanford, Calif./Robinson Secondary School) added base hits in the game one victory.

Haverford held a 7-6 edge in hits for the game while both teams committed two errors apiece.

Game 2

In Saturday's nightcap, Gettysburg raced out to a 5-0 lead in the first two innings and held off a comeback bid by Haverford to complete the sweep with a 7-5 victory.

Quinn connected on a three-run double to give the Bullets an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

An inning later, RBI singles from freshman
Lauren O'Leary (Manasquan, N.J./Jackson Memorial) and Moser pushed Gettysburg's advantage to five runs.

The Fords got on the board in the top of the fourth with an RBI double, but Gettysburg got that run back in the home fifth when freshman
Elliana Hopple (Collegeville, Pa./The Episcopal Academy) scored on a sacrifice fly from Komst to make it a 6-1 game.

Haverford would not go away quietly and scored four runs on two hits and three walks in the visitor's sixth to pull to within a run, 6-5.

Gettysburg closed out the scoring in the bottom of the frame, though, as freshman
Katherine Speltz (East Greenwich, R.I./Moses Brown School) scored on a sacrifice fly from Hopple.

Sophomore
Megan Hughes (Woodstock, Md./Marriotts Ridge) (4-4) picked up the win in the circle, tossing the final 3.2 innings and yielding four runs on fourth hits and four walks while striking out two batters.

Junior
Jasmin Herrera (Hollywood, Fla./Cooper City) started and went 3.1 innings, surrendering one run on one hit and one walk while fanning four batters.

Hopple went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored to lead Gettysburg's offense. O'Leary, Campana, Moser, and Quinn added two hits apiece.
