Kagan and Fellman post two wins apiece for the Bullets

Carlisle, Pa. - Host Dickinson College won a pair of three-set thrillers in singles action to edge Gettysburg College 5-4 in Centennial Conference men's tennis action on Wednesday at the Hays Tennis Courts.

Sophomore Alex Kagan (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) (No. 1 singles/No. 1 doubles) and freshman Michael Fellman (Rockville, Md./Thomas S. Wootton) (No. 2 singles/No. 2 doubles) led the Bullets by winning two matches apiece.

Gettysburg (6-5, 1-3 CC) won two of the three doubles matches. Kagan and sophomore Michael Zayneh (Hilton Head Island, S.C./Heritage Academy) combined for an 8-5 victory at No. 1, while Fellman and junior Matt Rau (Castle Rock, Col./Regis Jesuit) won by an identical scoreline at No. 2.

Fagan and Fellman both claimed their second victories of the day in singles play with convincing straight-set decisions at the top two flights. Fagan notched a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at the top pairing, while Fellman scored a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 2.

The Red Devils (5-6, 1-1 CC) won the other four singles matches, capped by three-set triumphs at No. 5 (6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4)) and No 6 (6-1, 3-6, 6-3), to secure the victory.

Gettysburg will enjoy a week off before returning to action next Wednesday when Goucher College visits the Bullets Tennis Courts. The non-conference match between the Bullets and Gophers is set for 4:00 p.m.
