THE SKINNY STORY
Alvernia capitalized on one of its few second-half offensive possessions to break up a scoreless deadlock and defeat Gettysburg, 1-0.
THE LEADERS

Katie Shaffer (Dalmatia, Pa./Line Mountain) led the Bullet defense with two defensive saves.

Emilia Saccento (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) made eight saves in goal.
FOR THE FOES
• Olivia Gehris scored the lone goal for the Golden Wolves.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Alvernia carried play in the first half before Gettysburg tilted the field in the opposite direction in the second half. The Bullets had a pair of quality looks late in the third quarter and early in the fourth quarter but could not capitalize.
• The Golden Wolves sent a ball in from the top of the arc with just inside four minutes to play. The ball made its way to Olivia Gehris, who was able to get a stick on it and place it in the far side of the cage.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Alvernia finished with an 11-10 edge in shots and 8-7 edge in penalty corners. The Golden Wolves improved to 2-1 against Centennial Conference teams, playing each team to one-goal contests.
