THE SKINNY STORY
After a competitive first quarter, Gettysburg began to assert their dominance and outscored Allegheny 18-9 in the third quarter en route to an 86-66 final score.
THE LEADERS
•
Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) led the Bullets with a double-double, notching 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Mackenzie Szlosek (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) added 12 points.
•
Jameson Mott (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen) scored 10 points in her first double-digit game.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg and Allegheny traded two-pointers in the opening minutes of play before
Alayna Arnolie hit a 3-pointer and
Mackenzie Szlosek followed up with a jumper to create a three-point Gettysburg advantage.
AB Holsinger (Crozet, Va./Langley) and
Emily Violante (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) each hit triples of their own to stretch the lead to nine just 3:46 into the game. Allegheny used two jumpers to cut the deficit to five before Arnolie hit a jumper in the paint and
Tatum Murray (Newton, Mass./Newton South) made a pair at the line to bring the lead to 10 points. With just 2:35 left to play in the first quarter, Allegheny went on a 7-0 run to tie the game 19-all heading into the second quarter.
• Gettysburg used buckets by Violante, Arnolie, as well as six points by
Caitlyn Priore (Holland, Pa./Germantown Academy) and a
Jameson Mott layup to move back to an eight-point lead just over two minutes into the second quarter, but Allegheny did as they had done in the first quarter and strung six straight points together to close within two. The teams exchanged free throws en route to a 35-29 Gettysburg lead with 3:52 left in the half. In the last two minutes of play, Gettysburg narrowly outshot Allegheny 8-7 to yield a 43-36 halftime margin.
• After a 4-3 Allegheny run started the second half and resulted in a 46-40 score, Gettysburg took off, scoring 12 unanswered points over a just under six-minute time span to lead 58-40. Five different Bullets contributed points within the stretch. Allegheny scored five points in the final two minutes of the quarter but Gettysburg held a strong 16-point lead going into the final quarter of play.
• Gettysburg continued to shoot past Allegheny in the final quarter, not allowing the Gators to get closer than 16 points the rest of the way.
Marah McHugh (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria) kicked things off with a layup and Murray and Arnolie chipped in triples before McHugh hit a jumper to get the Bullets up by 22 points with 7:25 left to play. Over the final 6:56 Gettysburg and Allegheny each scored 15 points, but the Bullets' lead was too great, as the game ended with a final 86-66 margin.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg got 36 points from its bench while Allegheny had just eight.
• The Bullets shot 45.7% from two, while the Gators shot 43.6%.
• Allegheny had a narrow 11 of 15 advantage in free throws. Gettysburg was 10 of 15 on the day.
