THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg held Eastern to 11 or fewer points in each quarter, including single digits in each of the final three periods, to help record a 67-34 win in the home opener.
THE LEADERS

Mackenzie Szlosek (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) led the Bullets with a double-double, registering 19 points and 13 rebounds. She also had two assists, two steals and two blocks while shooting 7 of 9 from the floor and 3-for-4 from long range.
FOR THE FOES
• Jeriyah Johnson led the Eagles with nine points.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Jakayiah Holland and Miranda Liebtag each hit a layup in the opening 67 seconds to stake Eastern to an early 4-0 lead. An
Emily Violante (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) hit a layup just over a minute later to spark a 20-0 run. Five different Bullets hit baskets during the 5-minute, 31-second stretch. Holland snapped the 7-minute, 4-second scoring drought with a putback and Gettysburg led after 10 minutes, 25-11.
• Holdinga 29-17 lead,
Mackenzie Szlosek canned a triple with 4:12 on the second-quarter clock, Violante drove and converted with 3:01 showing and
Marah McHugh (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) hit the first of two free throws to make it a 35-17 game at the intermission.
• Five quick points from Szlosek out of the break extended the lead to 23 en route to a 48-26 lead after three quarters.
• The Eagles netted the first six points of the fourth quarter to pull within 48-32 but
AB Holsinger (Crozet, Va./Langley) connected on a triple with 7:03 remaining to spark a 19-2 finish to the game.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The double-double for
Mackenzie Szlosek was the eighth of her career. Her 13 rebounds matched her career high.
• Eleven different players scored at least two points for the Bullets in the victory.

Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) nearly recorded a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. She also had two steals and two blocked shots.

AB Holsinger had four assists and two steals to go with her eight points.
