THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked eighth in the latest USILA poll, scored five goals in a 3-minute, 53-second stretch of the first quarter to take an early lead and never look back in a 22-5 season-opening win over DeSales.
THE LEADERS

Kyle Howard (Skillman, N.J./Montgomery) led the Bullets with five goals and two assists.
•
George Raymond (Darien, Conn./Suffield Academy) added two goals and four assists.
FOR THE FOES
• TJ Herron led the Bulldogs with two goals.
• Quinton Lyons made 20 saves in three quarters between the pipes.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• After a slow start by both teams,
Kieran Ward (Malvern, Pa./Malvern Prep) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 8:40 mark.
Kyle Howard then took over, scoring four times between 7:22 and 4:47 remained in the opening period. He had one solo run in the stretch and finished feeds from three different teammates. DeSales made it a 5-1 game with a TJ Herron goal at the 3:25 mark.
• Howard made it 6-1 just 2:15 into the second quarter before
Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) found the back of the net for the first time, finishing the second of Raymond's helpers. After Herron's second tally,
Stokes Myers (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell Academy) finished another Raymond feed, starting another four-goal run with 6:53 showing. Nate Perry made it an 11-2 game at the break, finishing in the final 10 seconds of the half.
• Five different Bullets scored in the first 5:22 of the third quarter, including
Jonathan Moshe (Port Jefferson, N.Y./Earl L. Vandermeulen) winning the faceoff and going right to goal. Domenic Maria broke up the run with a man-up tally before
Brady McGovern (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) stretched the lead back to 12 after three quarters.

Ryan Cernuto (Martinsburg, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) and Myers each tallied their second goals during a stretch of four goals in the first 4:52 of the final period en route to the 22-5 win.
THE INSIDE STORY
•
Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School) picked up eight ground balls in his debut.
•
Jonathan Moshe won 14 of 26 faceoffs with six ground balls.
•
Chase Morgan (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) made eight saves in his first collegiate start in goal.
