THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked eighth in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, outscored McDaniel 10-0 in the second quarter to open up an 11-goal advantage en route to a 22-6 win that officially secured the top seed in the conference tournament.
THE LEADERS
•
Katie Fullowan (Lebanon, N.J./North Hunterdon) led the Bullets with a season-best five goals and two assists for a season-high seven points. She added five draw controls.
•
Caroline Sullivan (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) matched her career best with five tallies. She also handed out an assist for six points.
FOR THE FOES
• Emma Miller led the Green Terror with two goals and an assist.

• Gettysburg raced out to a 4-0 lead before 3 minutes, 19 seconds had elapsed in the game.

Emily Crane (Upper Marlboro, N.J./Montclair) drove the lane for the 4-0 lead. McDaniel clawed back to within 5-4 at the end of the quarter on a run bookended by Acadia Noll's two goals.

Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley), however, found Sullivan in front just 18 seconds into the second period to start the decisive period. Crane hit the back of the net with 12:07 remaining before Sullivan connected with Fullowan just 15 ticks later. Daly, Basso and Fullowan extended the lead to 11-4 with 8:23 remaining before three straight from Sullivan in a 4-miunte, 13-second span pushed the advantage to 10 with 1:21 to play before halftime.
Kelly O'Connor (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) snuck one past the keeper with three seconds left for a 15-4 halftime lead.
• Emma Miller bookended a
Julie Breedveld (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) goal to make it a 16-6 game with 6:02 showing. Daly, however, pushed the lead back to 11 with 2:54 on the clock.
• Two Fullowan free-position tallies in the first 3:46 of the fourth quarter extended the lead to 19-6 before
Sophie Smith (Great Falls, Va./Langley) recorded a natural hat trick over the final 9:44 for her first multi-goal game of the year.
Greta Lacey (Marriottsville, Md./Mount de Sales Academy) and
Nina Marra (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) had the assists on the final two goals.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Eleven different players registered a point in the most lopsided victory of the season for Gettysburg.

Lily Macatee (Street, Md./North Harford) pulled down seven draw controls.

Julia Daly added two caused turnovers and three ground balls to her two goals and three assists.
Emily Crane finished with two goals and two assists.
• The Bullets finished with a 37-16 advantage in shots and 20-9 advantage in ground balls.
