THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg scored in the top of the ninth inning and worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth to escape Shenandoah with a split. The Bullets took game two 3-2 after dropping game on by an identical score.

THE LEADERS
Morgan Beggs (East Windsor, N.J./The Peddie School) went all nine innings in the circle in game two, striking out five for her first collegiate pitching win.
Jordan Pansy (Stroudsburg, Pa./Notre Dame) led the Bullets offensively with a hit in each game.

FOR THE FOES
• Sarah Medellin led the Hornets with three hits in the doubleheader.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the opener, Allegra DeCandia (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) and Allie Cluster (Pasadena, Md./Mount de Sales Academy) both reached on errors around an Olivia Moser (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) fielder's choice in the second. Jordan Pansy poked a two-out triple into the right-field corner to score Moser and Cluster for a 2-0 lead.
• That lead held until the home sixth. Danielle McNeill was hit by a pitch with one out and Sarah Medellin singled. After a fielder's choice put runners at the corners with two outs, Kayla Stephenson walked to load the bases and Brenna Snyder doubled to the fence in left to clear the bases and give Shenandoah a 3-2 lead.
Lauren O'Leary (Manasquan, N.J./Jackson Memorial) led off game two with a double before moving to third on a groundout and scoring on a Jess Campana (Brick, N.J./St. John Vianney) groundout for a 1-0 lead.
• Shenandoah got the run back in the bottom of the frame when Lily Richichi walked to lead off the inning and then taking second on a passed ball. After a groundout, Tiffany Bower singled up the middle to score Richichi from third.
• The pitchers took over, throwing up zeros until going to the international tiebreaker in the eighth. With Katherine Speltz (East Greenwich, R.I./Moses Brown School) pinch-running at second, Clare Sottile (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Spackenkill) got the sacrifice down. On an O'Leary groundball, Speltz was able to slide around the tag at the plate for the go-ahead run.
• In the bottom of the eighth, Paige Eagleton was pinch-running at second and moved to third on the successful sacrifice. Tower followed with a double to center to score the tying run before Morgan Beggs got a groundout and popup to send the game to the ninth.
Gianna Peralta (Gillette, N.J./Union Catholic) was pinch-running to start the ninth on second but after the sacrifice attempt hit the bat in fair territory, it took a Moser single through the left side to score Peralta for a 3-2 lead.
• In the home ninth, the Hornets got the sacrifice down to once again move the tying run to third. After a flyout that couldn't score the run, back-to-back walks loaded the bases with two outs before Beggs got a groundball to end it.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Kayla Stephenson threw a game-one gem, allowing just the one hit while striking out three and walking two.
Lauren O'Leary had two of the Bullets' four hits in game two.
