THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg had the best opportunity in the first half, coming in the 42nd minute. In a scramble off a corner,
Hannah Kernis (Wall, N.J./Wall Twp.) got a foot on the ball but it was cleared off the line by a defender.
Elise Fox's (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) rebound attempt was tipped up and over by goalie Marissa Spacht.
• In the 64th minute,
Morgan Hobson played around her defender at the top of the box to the right wing, where she fired a ball that was curving towards the upper-corner inside the far post. A Gopher defender got her head on it but ultimately redirected it into the nearside upper-corner.
• Nearly 12 minutes later, Carly Stevens took a free kick just outside the box and placed it perfectly just inside the left post to bring the visitors level.
