Dickinson (5-9, 2-5 CC) 2, Gettysburg (10-6, 3-5 CC) 1
What: Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey game
When: Wednesday, Oct. 23
Where: Gettysburg, Pa.

THE SKINNY STORY
Dickinson scored on its first two shots of the game to overcome an early 1-0 deficit and defeat Gettysburg, 2-1.

THE LEADERS
Morgan Cherry (Phillisburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) scored the early goal for the Bullets.

FOR THE FOES
• Becca Woods netted the game-winner for the Red Devils.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• On a 2-on-goalie situation, Gettysburg was awarded a penalty stroke just 4:30 into the game and Morgan Cherry stepped up and buried the attempt for an early 1-0 lead.
• Despite controlling play for most of the first half, the Bullets had just the stroke to show for it. Dickinson, however, capitalized on a defensive miscue in the 18th minute when Becca Woods drew the keeper out and sent a ball off the pads that Megan McClure collected and popped into the wide-open cage.
• Dickinson then earned a penalty stroke of its own just 7:05 into the second half and Woods put it in the upper-left corner of the cage for the 2-1 lead. The Red Devil defense held Gettysburg mostly out of the circle the rest of the way to claim the one-goal win.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with a 7-4 edge in shots while both teams had four penalty corners.
Sam Woolery (Media, Pa./Penncrest) made her first collegiate defensive save for the Bullets.
• Gettysburg enters its final two conference games in a virtual tie with Washington for the sixth and final playoff spot. The Bullets and Shorewomen meet in the season finale.
