Purchase Tickets for Wednesday's First Round at Gettysburg
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg will host one of the two first-round matches of 2024 Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball championship tournament on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
In the six-team format, the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds host the opening round. The fourth-seeded Bullets (22-4, 7-3 CC) hosts fifth-seeded Haverford (13-12, 6-4 CC) in one of the first-round games. Third-seeded Franklin & Marshall (22-5, 8-2 CC) hosts sixth-seeded Ursinus (14-10, 5-5 CC) in the day's other match at 7 p.m.
For the second season, the field will be reseeded for the semifinals. The higher-seeded remaining team will travel to second-seeded Swarthmore (16-9, 8-2 CC) in one semifinal on Friday. The lower-seeded remaining advances to top-seeded Johns Hopkins (27-2, 10-0 CC) in the other semifinal. Both matches will begin at 7 p.m.
The semifinal winners will advance to Sunday's championship game, which will be played at the site of the highest remaining seed. Match time will be 1 p.m.
Tickets will be sold for each round of the CC tournament and will be available soon on the Centennial ticketing homepage. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students age 6 through high school and senior citizens. Children five and under as well as students and staff from conference institutions are free.
The tournament's champion will earn the CC's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division III tournament, slated to begin on Nov. 21. The NCAA field will be announced on Monday at 1 p.m.
The Bullets are seeking their conference-record 12th conference title and first since 2005. It is the 20th tournament appearance for Gettysburg and the Orange and Blue will hosted a tournament match for the second straight year. The Bullets also in search of their 15th NCAA tournament bid after earning an at-large bid for the first time last season.
Gettysburg's only three conference losses this season came to the three teams that finished ahead of the Bullets in the standings, falling 3-0 at Johns Hopkins on Oct. 9, 3-0 at home to Franklin & Marshall on Oct. 16, and 3-1 at home to Swarthmore on Oct. 19. Gettysburg defeated Haverford 3-1 on the road on Oct. 12 and Ursinus 3-0 on the road on Oct. 26.

Alycen Radolovic (Willoughby, Ohio/Beaumont School) leads the Bullets attack this season with 254 kills (2.89 kps) while sophomore
Erin Gonzalez (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) and freshman
Clare Farrell (Livingston, N.J./Academy of St. Elizabeth) are both also averaging better than 2.00 kills per set. Gonzalez has 178 kills to go with 29 aces and 199 digs while Farrell has 158 kills, 67 digs and 17 total blocks.
Junior
Kendall Erpenbeck (San Jose, Calif./Prospect), sophomore
Halle Feth (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) and senior
Sophie Nasir (Covina, Calif./St. Lucy's Priory) have split time this season as setters. Erpenbeck has contributed team bests of 380 assists and 40 aces while Feth has 272 helpers and 18 aces. Nasir has chipped in 267 assists and 16 aces. Erpenbeck also has 124 digs while Nasir has 110.
Freshman
Nala Shearer (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) leads the defense with 335 digs while classmate
Kierra Fox (Phoenix, Ariz./Rancho Solano Prep School) has added 191 digs. Fox also has 21 aces and Shearer has 14. Junior
Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) leads the team with 103 blocks. Senior
Catherine Holtz (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) has added 63 blocks to go with 161 kills.
