THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 15th in the D3hoops.com preseason poll, scored 20 or more points in all four quarters to defeat Roanoke on the second day of the Jean Beamer Classic, posting the only 2-0 record in the classic format to win the title.
THE LEADERS
•
Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) led the Bullets with 15 points to earn the tournament's most valuable player recognition.
•
Emily Violante (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) chipped in 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists to join Arnolie on the all-tournament team.
•
Jameson Mott (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen) matched her career high with 13 points.

• Paige Breuer led the Maroons with 21 points.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the game's first 3:10 behind four points each by
Mackenzie Szlosek (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) and
Alayna Arnolie and two from
Emily Violante. Roanoke closed to within 14-11 on an Abigail Rice layup with 2:11 showing but the Bullets netted the final six points of the period to reestablish a 20-11 lead.

Skylar Reale (Warren, N.J./Morristown Beard) hit a layup on the opening possession of the second quarter to extend the lead to double digits. A Kiley Hilton three-point play and Paige Bauer triple closed the margin to 22-17 less than a minute into the period. Gettysburg, however, countered with a 9-0 run over the next two minutes to open up a 31-17 advantage. Four straight points from
Kimberly Hopkins (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) stretched the lead to 18 points at 47-29 – the Bullets' largest of the first half – with 57 seconds left. A Katie Lam 3-pointer made it a 15-point game at halftime.
• Arnolie and
Jameson Mott each hit triples to bookend an 11-3 run over the first 4:37 of the third quarter. An Arnolie step-back 18-footer closed the quarter and made it 68-45 going to the final period.
• The fourth quarter lead remained between 20 and 25 points until Paige Breuer hit a 3-pointer and Caroline Donaldson scored a layup on back-to-back possessions to make it an 80-63 game with 3:34 to play. A
Briana Robles (Staten Island, N.Y./Poly Prep) hit a 3-pointer to return the advantage to 20 at 85-65 with 2:13 to play. A Mott jumper put Gettysburg over the 90-point mark in the final 25 seconds.
THE INSIDE STORY
•
Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) pulled down 10 rebounds as part of a 44-37 advantage on the glass.
• The 91 points were the most scored by the Bullets against a team other than Bryn Mawr since defeating Western Connecticut 91-67 on Nov. 19, 2016.
