Gettysburg, ranked 15th in the D3hoops.com preseason poll, put together a 13-0 run early in the third quarter to break open a nine-point edge and fuel an 84-48 win over Penn State-Altoona.
THE LEADERS

Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) recorded a career-high 32 points to lead the Bullets that included hitting 7 of 9 from long distance. Overall, the reigning Centennial Conference Player of the Week was 12-for-16 from the floor. She also had five rebounds and two assists in just 28 minutes.

Emily Violante (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) opened the scoring, hitting a layup on the break for a 2-0 lead with 8:37 showing in the first quarter. Jaidyn drained the first of her three 3-pointers just over a minute later. After
Alayna Arnolie and Avana Sayles traded baskets, Arnolie canned a triple of her own. Sayles once again had the answer with a pull-up jumper to tie the game at 7-all midway through the quarter.
Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) scored the next three but McCracken once again hit a trey. Back-to-back Arnolie 3-pointers and a
Reagan Chrencik (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) layup accounted for an 8-0 run over just 1 minute, 18 seconds. Madison Rusnica halted the run with Altoona's third 3-pointer of the opening period before two
Skylar Reale (Warren, N.J./Morristown Beard) free throws made it a 20-13 game after one quarter.
• Jess Burns cut the margin to five early in the second quarter but two Arnolie triples gave the hosts a double-digit lead for the first time with 7:55 showing. Burns once again cut the deficit to five, making it 33-28 with a pull-up. After the teams traded baskets,
Kimberly Hopkins (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) drove and scored to start a 7-0 run over the final 1:46 of the period and give Gettysburg a 37-25 lead at the intermission.
• McCracken hit a 3-pointer just nine second into the third quarter but then it was all Bullets. Four players combined on the game-changing 13-0 run that ultimately became a 27-7 run that spanned the final 1:46 of the second quarter and first 5:51 of the third quarter. Arnolie finished the period on a personal 8-0 run that gave her 15 points in the period and extended the lead to 70-37 entering the final 10 minutes.

Ava O'Neil (Chevy Chase, Md./St. John's College) 3-pointer made it a 75-39 game with 7:35 to play and
Adeline Standish (Avon, Conn./Avon) hit a layup for the largest lead of the game at 82-45 with 1:10 to play. After an Allyana Stephens 3-pointer,
Sireen Maharmeh (Jerusalem, Palestine/College des Freres) drove down the left side for her first collegiate points.

Alayna Arnolie's 32 points were the most by a Gettysburg player since Ashley Gehrin scored 37 against St. Vincent on Dec. 20, 2019. Her seven 3-pointer ties her own program record for triples in a game. It is the fourth time a Bullet has canned seven shots from long range.
• In total, 12 different players scored for Gettysburg.

Shinya Lee finished with nine points and nine rebounds.
• The Bullets shot 43.8 percent from the floor for the game, including a blistering 68.4 percent (13 of 19) in the decisive third quarter).
