THE SKINNY STORY
An early second period goal put the Bullets in the lead, however, a quick answer from Washington College tied the game until late in the fourth. With roughly three minutes left in the game Gettysburg found the back of the net to secure the 2-1 win.
THE LEADERS
• Jillian Somers (Virginia Beach, Va., Cape Henry Collegiate) scored her seventh goal for the early lead.
• Sabrina Post (Poquoson, Va., Hampton Roads Academy) scored the final goal marking her seventh goal and fourth game-winner of the season.
FOR THE FOES
• Erin Houlihan scored the lone goal for the Shorewomen.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• The first period opened up with some Washington College action but quickly became the Bullets ball. However, it was back-and-forth for the remainder of the first. Roughly two minutes into the second period Jillian Somers scores for the Bullets. About four minutes later and Erin Houlihan answers for the Shorewomen.
• The third period begins at 1-1 with the Shorewomen taking early possession. The Bullets tried to take control but the period ended with no change to the score. It seemed the fourth period was going to fare the same until Sabrina Post scored with about three minutes to go securing the 2-1 Senior Day win and her fourth game-winner.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg held advantages in shots 19-12 and corners 12-5.
• The Bullets finish out their season 11-7 overall and 4-6 in the Centennial Conference.
