OPENING TIP: Tonight's non-conference game marks the 42nd all-time meeting between No. 12 Gettysburg (7-0) and No. 25 Messiah (6-0) in a series that dates back to 1976. The Falcons lead the all-time series 28-13 and have won nine of the last 10 matchups. The only Bullets win in that stretch was a 65-55 home win on Nov. 16, 2021.

WHEN LAST WE MET: A defensive battle resulted in long scoreless stretches by both teams but a final push by Messiah gave the hosts a 53-43 win over Gettysburg on Dec. 7, 2022. Emily Violante notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. She also added two steals. Reese Harden led all scorers with 18 points for the Falcons. She also grabbed six rebounds. LAST TIME OUT: Gettysburg shot 69.2 percent in the second quarter to open up a 39-20 halftime advantage and staved off a York (Pa.) comeback attempt to notch a 59-44 win last Tuesday. Shinya Lee led the Bullets with a career-high 20 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots. Mackenzie Brezovec paced the Spartans with nine points off the bench, shooting 4 of 6 from the floor. HIGH 5: Shinya Lee scored 20 points in Gettysburg's last outing, pouring in the career-high total in a 59-44 win over York last Tuesday. In addition to the 10-for-19 shooting, he also pulled down 11 rebounds for a double-double. The senior also blocked five shots on the night, marking the fourth time in the first seven games this year that she has swatted at least four shots in a game. She enters tonight's game with 174 career rejections, leaving her three shy of tying the program record for a career. She has also now reached double-figure points in the last three games and has four games with 10 or more rebounds. She has pulled down eight or more boards in all seven games. 

LAST TIME OUT: On Tuesday, Messiah used a strong team defensive performance to defeat Dickinson, 52-36. The Falcons jumped to a 10-4 lead after the first quarter and then outscored the Red Devils by 15 to push their lead to 30-9 at the half. Reese Harden led the Falcons with 13 points and five assists. HOME COOKING: Messiah has started the season with six straight wins and found itself break into the D3hoops.com top 25 with the first ranking last Monday. However, the Falcons did not leave their home court during the entire month of November. Tonight's game is the first road game of the season, starting a stretch of five straight away from home. Messiah will play just two home games between tonight and Jan. 25. The Falcons have outscored their first six opponents by an average of 15.5 points per game (57.5-42.0). Messiah's lone game decided by fewer than 14 points was 54-48 win over Penn State-Harrisburg on Nov. 20.
