THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 12th in the latest D3hoops.com poll, shot 69.2 percent in the second quarter to open up a 39-20 halftime advantage and staved off a York (Pa.) comeback attempt to notch a 59-44 win.

Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) led the Bullets with a career-high 20 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots.

• Mackenzie Brezovec paced the Spartans with nine points off the bench, shooting 4 of 6 from the floor. She also had six rebounds.

• After the teams traded baskets early,
Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) hit a driving layup for a 6-4 lead with 6:28 to play in the opening period. Up 8-6,
Kimberly Hopkins (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) canned two free throws with 5:12 showing to start a 10-2 run to close the period and build a 10-point cushion after 10 minutes.
• York scored five of the first seven points in the second period to trim the margin to 20-13 but
Shinya Lee's second field goal of the quarter sparked a 7-0 burst that pushed the advantage to 27-13 with 6:10 on the clock. After an Alyssa Hocker layup returned the deficit to single digits, Arnolie canned her only 3-pointer of the night to make it 32-20 with 2:50 showing and ignite a 10-0 run to the break. Four different players scored in the stretch, including
AB Holsinger (Charlottesville, Va./Langley) burying a triple of her own in the waning seconds.
• After making nine field goals in the second quarter, the Bullets' offense went quiet in the second half, making just 9 of 35 shots after the intermission. A Lee second-chance shot made it 41-20 with 8:46 on the third-quarter clock. The offense didn't score for another 3:23 but the defense held the Spartans without a field goal for the first 5:26 of the period when Mackenzie Brezovec made it a 43-27 game. The lead remained at least 15 through the end of the quarter.
• After Lee scored all eight Gettysburg points in the third quarter,
Amanda Rapel (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) hit her second 3-pointer of the game to extend the lead back to 50-32 just 1:18 into the fourth quarter. York, however, reeled off the next eight points to close to within 50-40 with 7:09 showing. However, the Bullets responded with eight straight of their own to extend the lead back to 18 with 1:46 to play.
THE INSIDE STORY

Shinya Lee's five blocks gave her 174 for her career, leaving her three shy of tying the career record.

AB Holsinger finished with 11 points and six assists.

Alayna Arnolie chipped in nine points, five rebounds and five steals.

• As a team, Gettysburg outrebounded York by a 44-31 margin.
• The Bullets shot 39.1 percent for the game after shooting 55.2 percent in the first half but limited the Spartans to just 30.2 percent from the floor.
