THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 24th in the latest D3hoops.com poll, held Dickinson to two points in the final 4:36 of the game while controlling possession and hitting free throws to secure a 64-55 road victory.

THE LEADERS
• Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison), the two-time reigning Centennial Conference Player of the Week, poured in a career-high 30 points on 10 of 16 shooting. She also went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

FOR THE FOES
• Clair Marion led the Red Devils with 21 points, five rebounds and three steals.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Behind a 5-for-7 showing from the free-throw line, Gettysburg built a 9-4 lead through the game's first 5:52. Meanwhile the defense held Dickinson to a 2-for-13 start from the floor before a Victoria Zerbe third-chance layup made it a three-point game with 2:56 on the clock. Triples from Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) and Mackenzie Szlosek (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) around an Abby John layup extended the lead to 15-8 before Clair Marion drained a 28-footer at the end first-quarter horn to make it a 15-11 game.
• Arnolie scored the first five points of the second quarter to push the lead to 20-11 before a Jenna Weinstein driving layup stopped the Red Devil scoring drought with 6:20 to play in the period. The run stretched to 6-0, closing the margin to three before Arnolie hit two free throws to halt a 4-minute, 19-second scoring drought for the Bullets. A Lindsey Hollenshead 3-pointer tied the game at 24-all with 50 seconds remaining before Szlosek was fouled with 0.2 seconds remaining and hit the second of two free throws for a one-point halftime else.
• The teams traded points in the third quarter until John got an eight-footer to bounce home to give Dickinson its largest lead of the game at 38-35 with 2:57 remaining. Szlosek answered with a driving layup out of a timeout to trim the deficit back to one. An Arnolie three-point play put the Bullets back in front with 1:42 showing. Marion momentarily tied the game at the other end but Arnolie drained her fourth trey for a 43-40 advantage with 1:15 remaining en route to a 45-44 lead after three periods.
• Tied at 47-all, Emily Violante (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) converted a driving layup with 7:51 to play to spark a 6-0 run. Dickinson closed to within 55-53 with 4:37 to play but then neither team scored for more than three minutes. With 1:16 remaining, Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) grabbed her second offensive rebound of the possession and save it to Violante, who finished through contact. After missing the free throw, Lee once again grabbed the board before AB Holsinger (Crozet, Va./Langley) was fouled and hit both free throws eight seconds later to extend the advantage to 59-53. The Bullets then went 5-for-6 from the line in the final 36.1 seconds while holding Dickinson off the scoreboard to build a 64-53 lead before Clare Crowley hit a wing jumper as the clock expired for the final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Alayna Arnolie became the first Gettysburg player to eclipse the 30-point mark since Emma Dorshimer scored 37 at Lebanon Valley on Nov. 18, 2018.
• Shinya Lee led the way on the glass for the Bullets with 10 rebounds while Mackenzie Szlosek grabbed seven boards to go with her 15 points.
