THE REST OF THE STORY
• Daly scored the first goal of the day in a man-down scenario, grabbing a pass from Basso and converting just 1:18 into the game. A free position tally by CJ Kole just under a minute later tied the game, but Daly put the Bullets back in front again shortly after off another feed from Basso. Three goals within a 90 second span from Basso,
Julie Breedveld (Wayne, Pa./Radnor), and
Emily Crane (Upper Montclair, N.J./Montclair) opened up a 5-1 lead with 8:22 left in the first. TCNJ responded with a 2-0 run to pull within two goals before tallies by
Caroline Sullivan (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) and another by Daly made it a 7-3 game after one.
• Gettysburg opened the second quarter on a 4-0 run that spanned just under four minutes, with goals coming from Crane, Breedveld, Basso, and Sullivan to force a TCNJ timeout. TCNJ finally scored their first goal of the second quarter from Kira Sides with 6:17 left in the half, but Crane added one more in the final two minutes for a Gettysburg 12-4 lead at half.
• Goals from Basso and
Maddie Passarello (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) made it a 10-goal game just five minutes into the second half. Sullivan and Marissa Lucca traded goals to maintain the deficit, and Daly added another off a feed from Breedveld with 30 seconds left in the quarter to lead 16-5 going into the final quarter.
• Ally Tobler closed the score back within 10 goals before Daly threw in two more unassisted tallies within three minutes of each other to stretch the lead out to 12 with 7:14 left. In the final 3:26, Daly scored her career-best seventh goal and neither team would get a good look the rest of the way.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg took 30 shots to TCNJ's 12.
• Along with Basso, Sullivan and Crane also finished with a hat trick and added an assist. All of
