THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg controlled play in the first half but could not find the back of the net before scoring three times in the game's final 16 minutes for a 3-1 win over Denison.
THE LEADERS

Morgan Cherry (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) scored the eventual game-winner for the Bullets.

Sabrina Post (Poquoson, Va./Hampton Roads Academy) broke open the scoring in the final minute of the third quarter.

• Emma Gebhart scored for the Big Red, converting the visitors' first shot on goal.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Despite a 10-0 advantage in shots and 5-0 advantage in penalty corners over the first 30 minutes, Gettysburg could not break through the Denison defense backstopped by a solid effort from goalkeeper Athena Joannou.
• After most of the third quarter was played between the 25s,
Jillian Somers (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) was final able to break into the circle from the right side. She fed
Sabrina Post, who was able to tip the ball home for a 1-0 lead with 46 seconds left in the period.
• Off a corner that was played to
Morgan Cherry, the senior fed classmate
Brinsley Rushe (Darien, Conn./Darien), who gave it right back to Cherry. She then chipped the ball over the goalie and into the upper net for a 2-0 lead just 2:24 into the fourth quarter. On a restart three minutes later, Megan Edwards knocked the ball in front of the cage from just outside the circle and Emma Gebhart finished to cut the deficit to 2-1. In the 56th minute,
Cassie DeBlieck (Grafton, Mass./Grafton) took the ball away and fed
Bella Bonazinga (Spring Lake, N.J./Wall) in the center of the circle and she finished high for her team-leading eighth goal of the season.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The Bullets finished with advantages of 18-2 in shots and 7-0 in penalty corners.
• Athena Joannou made 12 saves in goal for the Big Red.
