THE SKINNY STORY
In a match that featured 25 ties and 18 lead changes – including 12 and 10 in the fourth set alone, Gettysburg had the final say in a 3-1 win over Stevenson.

THE LEADERS
Catherine Holtz (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) led the Bullets with 12 kills and a career-high 10 digs for her first career double-double. She also had four blocks.
Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) also knocked down 12 kills to go with four blocks. She also had six digs and two aces.

FOR THE FOES
• Giulia Viglietta paced the Mustangs with 10 kills and blocks.
• Zakara Masibo chipped in 10 kills of her own and had seven total blocks.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• A pair of Ava Grall (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra) recorded a pair of aces to help Gettysburg jump out to a 6-0 lead in the opening set. Stevenson then ran off eight of the next 12 points to close to within 10-8. The Bullets stretched the lead back out to 13-9 on a Catherine Holtz kill but a Zakara Masibo kill capped a 7-3 counter that eventually tied the set for the first time at 16-all. The teams traded points before a Halle Feth (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) ace opened up a 21-18 lead. Gianna Galli (Demarest, N.J./Northern Valley Demarest) combined the second Gettysburg block of the set, putting the cap on a 25-19 win.
• Neither team could open a lead of larger than two points until Makala Thompson put together a run of five straight service points that included her lone ace of the night to turn a 9-7 deficit into a 12-9 lead. The Mustangs then never trailed the rest of the way, evening the match with a 25-22 victory.
• Back-to-back Mary Huegel kills started a 5-0 run that turned a 5-4 edge into a 10-4 lead in the third set and forced a Stevenson timeout. Holding an 18-14 lead, two Ava Grall kills keyed another run of six straight points to build a 10-point lead at set point, ultimately taking the set, 25-16.
• A Grall ace, Holtz kill and Holtz-Galli block helped the Bullets jump out to a 4-0 lead in the fourth set. Stevenson, though, countered with five straight before Gettysburg ran off four in a row for an 8-5 lead. Two Nicolette Fuglestad aces was part of a 4-0 Mustang stretch that made it 9-8 but a Holtz-Huegel block drew the set back even. The rest of the set was back-and-forth until a Grall kill knotted the set at 22-all. After a Stevenson error, Grall knocked down another kill and then she combined with Galli for the block and winner, 25-22.

THE INSIDE STORY

Ava Grall finished with 11 kills for the first double-digit kill performance of her young career. She also had four aces and two blocks.
Halle Feth added 16 assists and three aces.
