THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked ninth in the latest D3hoops.com poll, hit nine of its first 11 shots from the floor to build a 22-9 lead in the game's first seven minutes and cruised from there to a 71-35 win over Swarthmore.

THE LEADERS
• Junior Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) scored 18 points that included the 1,000th of her career with 8:17 to play in the third quarter on a fast-break layup.
Reagan Chrencik (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) recorded a double-double with 14 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. She also had two steals.

FOR THE FOES
• Raven Richardson was the only player to reach double digits for the Garnet, scoring 10 points.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Alayna Arnolie drained a 3-pointer from the wing on the game's opening possession before Swarthmore drew even at 3-all on a single Katelyn Becker free throw with 8:40 showing. A Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) layup at the other end, however, put Gettysburg in front for good. Arnolie canned two more triples around an AB Holsinger (Charlottesville, Va./Langley) drive to the hoop for a 13-3 lead at the 6:21 mark. Reagan Chrencik nailed a trey from the top of the arc to cap the early 22-9 start with 3:03 to play in the first quarter. The Garnet closed to within 22-13 after one quarter.
• A Lee jumper snapped a 6-minute, 14-second scoring drought and reestablished a 10-point lead at 24-14. After Anna Hansson converted a three-point play with 6:33 showing, the Bullets scored eight straight and opened up a 32-17 advantage on a Holsinger triple with 3:28 to play in the half. Swarthmore got back to within 11 but Gettysburg netted the final seven of the second quarter to take a 39-21 lead into halftime.
• After Lee made it a 20-point game for the first time, Arnolie – sitting on 998 points after a 12-point first half – picked up a loose ball and raced the length of the court, converting the basket and drawing a foul for a three-point play that put her into the 1,000-point club. She added another 3-pointer with 6:33 on the clock before her day was done for the final 15:34 and the hosts in front, 48-21. Ava O'Neil (Chevy Chase, Md./St. John's College) drained a 3-pointer fresh off the bench to make it a 30-point game for the first time. Gettysburg took a 57-25 lead to the final period, holding Swarthmore to just four points in the period.
• After a Hansson jumper and Alyssa Hayashi free throw cut the margin to 29 in the first 30 seconds of the fourth quarter, Briana Robles (Staten Island, N.Y./Poly Prep) hit a layup and the lead remained over 30 the rest of the way, growing to as large as 37 en route to the 36-point win.

THE INSIDE STORY
Alayna Arnolie became the 19th player in program history to reach 1,000 points for her career. She finished the day with 1,004.
• Gettysburg outrebounded Swarthmore 49-27 while holding the Garnet to just 25.5 percent shooting for the game and no 3-pointers on 12 attempts. The Bullets connected on 11 triples and shot 44.1 percent from the floor.
Shinya Lee finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two blocks. Six players finished with six or more points for Gettysburg.
