THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked ninth in the latest D3hoops.com poll, used a 13-4 run midway through the second period to turn a four-point deficit into a five-point lead and did not trail after that, defeating McDaniel 61-46 to improve to 8-0 in Centennial Conference play.

THE LEADERS

Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) pulled down 15 rebounds to go with eight points.

FOR THE FOES
• Elaina Beckett led the Green Terror with 14 points, four rebounds and three blocked shots.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• After AB Holsinger (Charlottesville, Va./Langley) opened the game with a pull-up jumper, McDaniel hit on six of its first seven shots that included a pair of 3-pointers, to open up a 14-6 lead midway through the opening quarter. Teya McConnaha and Lil Overcash combined for 12 of those 14 points. After Alayna Arnolie and Overcash traded baskets, Adeline Standish (Avon, Conn./Avon) canned two free throws and Ava O'Neil (Chevy Chase, Md./St. John's College) scored five straight points to close the deficit to one at the quarter break.
• The Green Terror pushed the advantage back out to 19-15 in the first 90 seconds of the second quarter before another O'Neil 3-pointer and Shinya Lee fast-break layup gave the hosts a 20-19 edge with 6:52 on the clock, taking the lead for good. Baskets from four different Bullets extended the advantage to 28-23 with 2:39 showing en route to a 30-28 halftime edge.
• Arnolie and Lee started the second half with baskets to build a 34-28 advantage in the first 1:18 of the third period. A Holsinger fast-break layup stretched the lead to 45-36 with 1:59 to play in the period before Tatum Murray (Newton, Mass./Newton South) hit a 3-pointer off the bench for a 50-40 lead at the end of the quarter.
• The fourth-quarter advantage grew to 13 in the first two minutes when Arnolie drained her lone triple of the game and McDaniel did not get closer than nine the rest of the way. After a Beckett jumper made it 55-46 with 6:24 to play, four points from Arnolie and two from Holsinger closed out the scoring.
