Tied at 3-all when darkness halted the match on Saturday, Gettysburg wrapped up a 4-3 win over Messiah with a victory at the remaining fifth singles on Thursday.
THE LEADERS
• Meaghan Dougherty (Heath, Texas/Rockwell-Heath) rounded out a two-win match, clinching the victory on Thursday with an 8-4 victory.
FOR THE FOES
• Isabella Ipri won twice to lead the Falcons. She and Jocelyn Valdez teamed for a 6-4 win at third doubles before Ipri won sixth singles, 8-2.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In doubles, Emma Ward (Falls Church, Va./George Mason) and Claire Carroccio (Newtown Square, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) partnered for a 6-4 win at second doubles before Gabby Mazzeo (Bethel, Conn./Bethel) and Meaghan Dougherty captured the doubles point for Gettysburg with a 6-4 win of their own at No. 1 doubles.
• Mazzeo wrapped up a 2-0 match with an 8-4 win at first singles while Lindsay Paullin (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) added an 8-4 victory at fourth singles.
• Susan Arp and Isabella Hickman helped draw the match even with wins at second and third singles, respectively. Arp won 8-2 while Hickman was victorious, 8-6.
