THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg and Bryn Mawr each scored a penalty stroke goal in regulation before needing a shootout to determine a winner and the Bullet prevailed for a 2-1 win.
THE LEADERS

Emilia Saccento (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) led the Bullets with six saves in addition to numerous stops in the shootout.
FOR THE FOES
• Charlene Basque led the Owls with five saves.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• A Maggie Barilla penalty stroke in the 27th minute staked Bryn Mawr to a 1-0 halftime lead. Angie Flacco (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) got Gettysburg even in the 40th minute with a stroke of her own.
• Neither team could find another tally through the rest of regulation and two 10-minute overtimes. Leya Patel converted the first shootout attempt to give the Owls an early 1-0 lead. After four straight misses,
Margaret-Ann Graves (Charlottesville, Va./The Covenant School) finally got Gettysburg even in the third round. After a Bryn Mawr miss,
Sofia Scalzo (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset Secondary School) put the Bullets in front heading to the final shooters. Saccento got a stop on the ensuing Owls attempt for the victory.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Bryn Mawr finished with a 13-11 edge in shots and 5-3 edge in penalty corners.
• It was the first time in program history that Gettysburg had won a game that went to a shootout. It was the Bullets' second shootout and sixth overtime game of the season.
