GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Four members of the Gettysburg volleyball team were named to the Division III Academic All-District volleyball team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), announced on Tuesday.

Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Jan. 13.

The following Bullets volleyball players were honored as part of the program:

• Sophomore Kierra Fox (Phoenix, Ariz./Rancho Solano Prep School), a business, organizations and management and economics major
• Sophomore Ava Grall (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra), a business, organizations and management major
• Senior Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck), a biochemistry and molecular biology major
• Sophomore Nala Shearer (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County), a biology major.

Huegel earned her third straight honor after also being selected as a sophomore and junior.

To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve. Up to four eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
